Reference-No: 105.004-64. Movement-No.: 22088051. Description: 3-hand-chronograph with 30-minute counter at "3" o'clock, 12-hour counter at "6" o'clock and subsidiary seconds at "9" o'clock. The calibre 321 is one of Omega's most legendary clockworks and was a hand-wound chronograph based on the Lemania calibre 2310 and was used in numerous models, including the famous Omega Speedmaster The importance of the Omega Speedmaster in the history of watchmaking cannot be overestimated. Originally developed for racing, the model eventually became the apple of NASA's eye for use in space. The 'Ed White' (built in 1964-1969) was the first Speedmaster to fulfil the requirements for NASA's space missions during initial testing. The nickname of course comes from the now legendary astronaut who was the first person to complete the 'spacewalk'! The St 105.003 is considered one of, if not the most important reference and was used on all Gemini missions. It should also be noted that Omega's high-quality Calibre 321 is probably the company's most important clockwork, as it was also used for this model alongside the first Speedmaster 'Broad Arrow', which was introduced in 1957.
