Lange & Sohne quickly became one of the most well regarded watch brands in the world, synonymous with craftsmanship and elegance. In 2002, A. Lange & Sohne added a new branch to the Lange 1 family, combining their most well known design with one of the most beautiful and romantic horological complications: the moonphase. However, the brand was not satisfied with simply adding this complication, they had to improve it. Thus, the moonphase indicator on the present lot does not move in daily increments like those from most other brands, but instead is constantly in motion, providing the most accurate depiction of the phase of the moon. Indeed, the yearly deviation of the moonphase indicator is only 11 minutes, compared to the 44 of typical moonphase complications.
