This celebrated model, the Lange 31, is the world’s first mechanical wristwatch with a power reserve of 31 days, made possible by two mainsprings that are both 1,850mm long—around ten times as long as wristwatches with a conventional power reserve. The remaining power is indicated on the display on the right side of the dial, while a small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock and date display at 10 o’clock complete the asymmetrical aesthetic with which this brand is known.
