Unlike most automatic winding mechanisms this weight does not swivel around the case back, rather it moves back & forth in a short space. The weight is slowed at the end of each movements by a spring. However the stoppage of the weight does cause a slight & perceptible vibration & a very soft knocking sound which can increase in feel & volume due to sudden movement.
