Underneath the caseback, faint but unmistakable, was hand-engraved: "BT1203255" a French patent number, not a serial, marking it as a creation entirely unique to Boucheron.
White gold constituted less than 3% of Boucheron's total production, making this watch a rarity among rarities.

Founded in 1858 by Frédéric Boucheron, the maison was one of the earliest and most illustrious jewelry houses in France.
