The watch will be shipped with a Sotheby’s branded calf leather strap. The first Ceinture models, translated from the French as 'Belt', due to their resemblance to a belt buckle, were released initially in the late 1920's. The crown on these models have been discreetly and securely been set within the flank of the square sided case and are also unusually shaped, octagonal sided rather than with sapphire cabochon making them far easier for the wearer to use. In addition to the sought after jumbo size with the bubble back to fit the automatic movement, this particular watch displays a highly unusual white enamel colour dial. This rare characteristic makes it a very special specimen for any Cartier's collector.
