One of the earliest Tanks was presented to Gen. John Pershing, commander of the American Expeditionary Force, who was stationed in Paris during World War I. The Tank Normale is regarded as the progenitor of all Tank models. Its first variation, the Tank Cintrée, debuted in 1921, imparting an Art Deco aesthetic. This model is now considered one of Cartier’s most iconic creations, with numerous editions produced over the past century. The current piece in 18k yellow gold features a cabochon crown for time adjustment, exclusively crafted in yellow gold, and is remarkable for the condition of its case with rounded lugs. The dial maintains the classic layout with a white background, black Roman numerals on the outer track, and a closed inner minute track.
