This example is the Tank released as part of the Must de Cartier line which was simultaneously a marketing concept and a brand name under the French maison first introduced in 1977. The watch paid tribute to the original Tank Louis Cartier and was launched with more than a dozen different dial options, like dark blue, red, and even a striped pattern. This example is the highly coveted Black onyx lacquer dial with silver painted Roman numerals and rail track minute circles. Overall, this watch is in excellent condition. The case shows some light scratches and minor nicks, which are to be expected for a timepiece of its age, yet it maintains its elegant tank lines. The silver vermeil gold-plated case and case-back feature crisp, well-preserved hallmarks. The plastic crystal remains generally clean and clear. As is common with lacquered Must de Cartier Tank dials from the 1970s, some cracks are visible when viewed at certain angles, but the dial itself is clean with no signs of blemishes or discoloration. The original rhodium hands and blue spinel cabochon are both in excellent condition. The movement underwent a full service by our watchmaker in October 2024 and is currently running at +18.1 seconds per day. The watch is paired with a high-quality Camille Fournet green strap (as shown in the photos). Camille Fournet, a renowned strap maker, continues to craft straps for Patek Philippe to this day. Additionally, it includes its original Cartier gold-plated buckle and comes with a Cartier presentation box. Ships from Japan
