--> Description Ceinture in yellow gold, European Watch & Clock movement, manual winding, circa 1920 Cartier Brand: Cartier Model: Ceinture Year: circa 1930 Reference: 7975 Dial: Silvered Case No.: 33149 Movement: Manual winding Cal: 18 Jewels Material: 18k yellow gold Strap: Leather with original deployant Size: 28x28 mm --> More information The Cartier Ceinture model was first introduced in 1927 and, although it was reissued in the 1970s, this watch is a rare example of the original edition produced in the 1930s, making it much more valuable and historically significant than the later reissue. Called the ‘Ceinture’ because of its resemblance to a belt buckle, the case has a square shape with rounded corners, a characteristic design that distinguishes it from other Cartier models of the time. The flat winding crown, subtly recessed into the bezel, adds an elegant and minimalist touch that contrasts with the more traditional style of Cartier's cabochon crown. The dial is classically Cartier, with an internal ‘Chemin de Fer’ minute track and Roman numerals.
