1970 Certina sleek slim Dress Watch with satin Dial in solid 18ct Gold with Box - Like New

This Watch We have here a stunning Swiss Certina wristwatch dated via its English Hallmark too 1970 .The off-white/silvered dial has a subtle vertical satin effect. We love the mix of simple applied, single and double and baton markers, with black central strip. This dial is signed 'Certina' with their classic 'C' logo at 12 o'clock. A simple and elegant dial with perfect symmetry - what more could you ask for in a dress watch! The 34mm, 18ct solid gold, Swiss-made, English hallmarked sturdy case is fully signed and in immaculate condition. Inside is the Manual 17 jewel in house, Certina caliber 25-66! Fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've paired the watch on a black crocodile leather strap but it looks great on brown or blue too. Unusually for a watch of this age, it also comes with its original box which is a fantastic addition. Extra Points Certina was founded in 1888 by Adolf and Alfred Kurth in Grenchen Switzerland. Here they made movements and supplies for the watch industry. Shortly afterwards they started making their own watches and grew their workforce from 3 to 250 in 1938 when they celebrated their 50th Anniversary. By 1955 they had 500 employees and were producing 1000 watches a day. This expansion continued in 1971 when they were producing 600,000 watches every year with a workforce of 900. In 1983 Certina became a member of the Swatch group which they continue to this day The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover. What we think In our opinion, this Certina is equal to what Omega, Longines, Tudor and most other more well known watchmakers were producing at the time in style and quality. It is one not to be missed - the dial alone is exquisite - and it will look great in an established collection or a perfect piece for a first-time, vintage watch buyer! Plus the watch comes with its original box - something that is quite rare for a watch of almost 55 years!
