The Scafograf was the first dive watch from Eberhard. In 1958, the Scafograf 100 was released, which was followed by the Scafograf 200 and 300. The number behind the model name stands for the water resistance of the watch in meters. Eberhard mainly sold their watches in Italy and did not have a huge presence around the world like Rolex or Omega did and as a result, the Scafograf 300 is an extremely rare watch. The previous iterations of the Scafograf 100 and 200 only had a few hundred examples made, showing you just how rare these pieces are. This Scafograf 300 from 1965 offered here is the ultimate mix of unique design and historical relevance. Dial : The beautiful original unrestored black gilt dial with gold printing has mint in condition, asymmetric date window. The alternate date display is just cool: odd date numbers are black and even dates are red. The luminous material on the dial has aged to a beautiful yellow tone that matches the hands perfectly. Hands : The lume in the hands, hour markers is original. The sought after "Lollipop" hand its another cool part of this watch. Only the insiders know: the hour hand with its two triangles and the rhombus is extremely rare with original lume. Case : The 42mm case with twisted lugs is unpolished, and may be recognisable to some of you and that is because the 42mm stainless steel case that houses this Scafograf 300 was produced by Huguenin Freres who also produced cases for Omega’s trilogy. The edges of the case are sharp and crisp (see pictures). The original Eberhard crown is signed with Eberhard's "E". Bezel : The bi-directional rotating bezel is 100% original and has little scratches that make this watch lively and absolutely honest. Its luminous triangle at 12 still full of lume. It has faded slightly into a very attractive tone of orange. Caseback : On the screwed down caseback one can see the original Eberhard engraving with the seahorse. Inner caseback marked 11706-584 Movement: The Scafograf is powered by the automatic movement of caliber 261-123. Bracelet : A real bonus to this watch is the original Eberhard stainless steel bracelet from the 1960s, which can hardly be found on the market. We included 6 spare links of the bracelet. The Eberhard Scafograf 300 shows an impressive and magnificent look and cannot be overlooked on the wrist. This is an ultimate collector's item for someone who is looking for an extremely rare object with historical relevance.
