This could be a great addition for someone looking for a piece of American watchmaking history that has vintage sizing and mid 20th century charm! An awesome dress watch that will always stay unique and classy. The watch winds and keeps good time! The crown action is crunchy and feels good to operate when winding or adjusting the time. I haven’t had this piece serviced or opened it myself, but based on the crown and accuracy I imagine it’s running fine. A new owner can always take it to a local watchmaker for a service if inclined. The dial is in great condition, with the hands and Breguet numerals still polished nicely and fully intact. The white of the dial has patina’ed to an almost “cat spots” pattern, still looking white from any normal distance but noticeable aged when viewed up close. The lines of the railroad track, logo, and small seconds complication are crisp and like new. The rolled 10k gold of the case and bracelet show the age of 80 years, with micro scratches throughout. I don’t know where this watch went in its lifespan but it definitely didn’t stay in a drawer. From even a few inches away, the pieces looks fully gold, besides the stainless steel case back and underside of the well-known Spiedel brand stretch bracelet. The crystal is acrylic and therefore has scratches, although I think they are very minimal for a watch this old and seeing the time is easy. I used a Polywatch polish and removed any surface-level scuffs. The condition of the dial, hands, case, and bracelet stood out to me, as pieces this old are too often beat up and barely running (if at all). I’ve done my best to list photos that show condition and all angles. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! —) Domestic Shipping only —) USPS Priority 2-day Shipping
