This is a remarkable very limited-edition timepiece from Grand Seiko's Sport Collection (only 350 made) that showcases Grand Seiko’s precision craftmanship in a distinctive style and designed for durability with a titanium and ceramic constructed case and bracelet (making the timepiece much lighter than you would expect for the size). I assume many have not seen this timepiece in person so I will detail what I know about this timepiece below. Please read the description below for specific details of this timepiece. Condition: The watch is in fantastic condition and runs perfectly. It has been seldom worn. With the exception of a few micro scratches in the bottom of the bracelet clasp (that are not noticeable unless you look closely - see pic) there are no scratches or imperfections that I can see after thoroughly examining the watch. I have made an effort to provide quality macro and/or close-up photos that should capture the intricate craftsmanship and the excellent condition of the timepiece. Photos taken January 1 & 2, 2025. Brand: Grand Seiko Model: Hi Beat 36000 Special SBGJ229 with 9S86 special series regulation (signified by golden medallion in back case), 36000 beats per hour (10 beats per second) and accurate to +4/-2 seconds/day (base 9S is +5/-3), and was made to honor the 20th anniversary of the 9S mechanical movement, in a unique titanium / ceramic design. The Hi Beat provides a very smooth sweeping second hand movement. Very limited edition - only 350 watches made. Issued/Manufactured: 2018 Winding: Automatic / manual. Approximate 55 hr power reserve. Dial: The dial of this watch is something that must be seen in person to fully appreciate as photos can only do so much. While some may disagree, the precision of Grand Seiko’s watches is on par with the best luxury watches in the industry, or maybe better, and this is very apparent in the dial of this timepiece. The dial consists of a blue “GS9S” mosaic swirl pattern with a date window at 3:00 o’clock. Perhaps one of the most striking aspects of this watch besides the overall precision hand assembly work of the dial are the hand finished diamond polished indices and date window that are trimmed with iridescent facets that throw out a beautiful blue hue complementing the darker blue dial. Luminescent hour, minute, & 24-hour hands, and luminescent indices The watch features a reference time-zone hand, allowing the wearer to track a second time zone independently. 24 hour bezel and screw down crown. Crystal: Anti-reflective sapphire dial crystal. See-through sapphire crystal caseback allowing viewing of the blue anodized titanium rotor and movement. Bracelet: Polished titanium and satin blue ceramic integrated bracelet thoughtfully designed with the ceramic slightly raised above the titanium, and precise channeling between the material and links. Tri-fold titanium clasp with twin trigger release, and four micro adjustment settings. All links are removable. Bracelet is designed for precise fitting. The bracelet is currently adjusted for a wrist size of about 7 in. (17.8 cm). Included: Timepiece and bracelet. I do not have the box and papers. I acquired this from the estate of a person that was a hoarder with an appreciation for luxury watches, and the family unfortunately decided it was necessary to discard all boxes to access and organize the contents of the estate.
