Moser & Cie has been in the family for decades and has hardly ever been worn, so the watch is in very good condition. The Russian engraving of the company name (see illustrations) shows that this pocket watch was made in the early years of the 20th century. Among the customers of h. Moser & Cie's customers at the time included Russian princes and members of the Russian tsar's court; V. Lenin also owned a pocket watch from h. Moser Cie. Moser Cie. The business in Russia of h. Moser & Cie was expropriated in 1918 as a result of the October Revolution. The accompanying watch chain was probably made at the end of the 19th century and matches the pocket watch very well. However, it was not made specifically for this watch.
