Down the right, we have an indented pusher, a signed crown, and a raised pusher underneath; on the left side, we have two more pushers for the complications. A polished smooth bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal above a striking ivory dynamic sector dial. Stylised numerals surround a date register at 12 o’clock, a moonphase at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour register at 6 o’clock and finally, a month register, each recessed and beautifully executed with an 18ct rose gold stick hand. Slender 18ct Rose gold hands sit majestically in the centre. At 3 o’clock, the Hermès Paris motif completes this sophisticated, innovative traveller's timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down 18ct Rose Gold sapphire exhibition case back, inside an automatic Hermès Cal. H1950, 29 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, made for Hermès by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, an attractive repeating “H” is engraved across the movement and micro-rotor. It comes paired with two worn Hermès straps, an aftermarket fitted strap and an 18ct Hermès pin buckle. This watch is sold with its original Hermès box and original Hermès paperwork, including a December 2018 full Hermès service and Hermès “Maintenance” in March 2019, August 2021 and September 2023. The Brand The luxury brand Hermès was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès, who opened a workshop in rue Basse-du-Rempart, Paris, France. Initially, luxury accessories, equipment, and jewellery were sold to the equestrian world. In 1912, he built his first watch as a present for his son Emile Hermès’ daughter; it wasn’t until 1928 that they produced their first commercial watches with the help of Movado. In 1978, they moved the “La Montre Hermès” “The Hermès Watch” division to Biel, Switzerland. They are part of the prestigious Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and are still majority family-owned through their holding company H51, and the Arnault family, who own LVMH, own 20%.
