Description

Vintage Heuer Carrera 2447S

Vintage Heuer watches are becoming increasingly sought-after, especially first-generation versions of its iconic chronographs, known to be steeped in the history of motor-racing. The Carrera was designed by Jack Heuer, great-grandson of the company’s founder, who oversaw the launch of some of the brand’s most legendary timepieces. This first-generation model from the mid-1960s, reference 2447S, is in excellent condition for its age and was manufactured a few years before the brand unveiled its pioneering automatic Calibre 11, hence the manual-wind Valjoux 72 movement—a revered calibre in its own right. Some versions featured an all-white dial, although “panda” dials like this one, where the three chronograph registers are in black, are generally more desirable. This is a great chance to own a milestone timepiece from a legendary Swiss brand. This Vintage Heuer Carrera 2447S has a silver baton dial and a leather strap. Due to age, this Vintage may not fall within our typical expected tolerances for timekeeping, and is no longer suitable for use in wet environments or submersion in water. In the interests of preserving original features, utmost care has been taken to sympathetically restore this watch. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history.
