His grandfather was a watchmaker. His father was a watchmaker. So, it was only natural that he would graduate from watchmaking school and join Patek Philippe. While he did a brief stint racing cars—finishing 3rd at Le Mans behind Paul Newman in 1979—watchmaking was always his true passion. At the age of 63, in 2010, he launched his eponymous brand and, that same year, won the "Best Men's Watch" at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. Ferrier understands that watches must not only be technically excellent but also beautiful—and this Classic Origin ‘Revolution & The Rake’ Edition is an outstanding example of that ideal. Housed inside the perfectly proportioned Classic Origin case is the calibre LF116.01, which features a free-sprung balance wheel and a Breguet overcoil balance spring—classic watchmaking at its finest. The dial was developed in collaboration with Wei Koh of the magazines The Rake and Revolution , known for their style and connoisseurship. It draws inspiration from the past while feeling entirely modern. The dial features a soft champagne sunburst pattern with an opaline finish. There’s an elegant outer railroad track and a beautifully pronounced inner sector dial. Between the two are large, applied Breguet numerals—crafted from solid gold and ruthenium-treated to harmonize with the rest of the dial elements. Finished off with a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and Ferrier’s signature spear-shaped hands, this is truly a work of horological art that is as beautiful as it is rare. How rare? Only 12 were produced. We are delighted to offer this exquisite piece of independent horology to its next fortunate owner.
