Description
The M.A.D. EDITION 1 watch, created by Maximilian Büsser for MB&F, has generated a lot of interest despite its limited availability. The watch was designed as a token of appreciation for MB&F's supporters, including suppliers and Tribe members. The M.A.D. 1 is different from the brand's usual high-priced products, featuring a unique time display and extravagant design that is reminiscent of MB&F's signature style. The watch has an inverted movement, lateral timing indication, and a distinctive triple-bladed winding rotor, showcasing MB&F's dedication to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. Although many people are clamoring for its release on the commercial market, the M.A.D. 1 remains exclusive to the brand's inner circle, leaving enthusiasts eagerly awaiting its potential availability to a wider audience. MB&F Swiss watch industry veteran, businessman, and entrepreneur Maximilian Büsser founded his eponymous brand MB&F (“Maximilian Büsser & Friends”) in 2005 following accomplished stints at Harry Winston and Jaeger-LeCoultre. A horological laboratory of sorts, MB&F is unlike traditional watchmaking enterprises, bringing together innovators from across the industry to collaborate on “Horological Machines” and “Legacy Machines” — timekeeping devices and wristwatches that push the creative and engineering envelopes in completely new directions. A relatively small and nimble company, MB&F crafts kinetic sculptures in partnership with some of the most learned minds in watchmaking, including Stephen McDonnell, Kari Voutilainen, L’Epée, and others, the results of which are breathtaking. Certain of these works are displayed in the company’s “M.A.D. Galleries” (“mechanical art devices”) around the world, allowing buyers, potential customers, and others to view the firm’s groundbreaking horological art in a nontraditional setting. MB&F and its creations have been awarded by the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève — the “Oscars” of the watch world — in recognition of the firm’s creativity, spirit, and watchmaking accomplishment. Truly, there are few companies operating today whose wares can be considered as thought-provoking and innovative as those of Maximilian Büsser & Friends.
