Movado and Zenith collaborated on the El Primero project: the first integrated high-beat automatic chronograph in the world, released in 1969. The legendary 3019PHC El Primero movement is running at 36,000 vibrations per hour and it is capable of tracking elapsed time down to 1/10th of a second. This is the 17 jewel version of the 3019PHC marketed in North America and this particular watch comes from Canada. All functions of the movement work perfectly, the watch keeps excellent time and the chronograph starts, stops and resets flawlessly. The elegant black dial with grey subdials in reverse panda configuration is in perfect original condition, never refinished. The 38 mm tonneau-shaped case is in very good condition appropriate for its age. It comes on a handmade black leather strap with grey stitching to match the dial and subdials. This is a very elegant vintage El Primero chronograph, a historic piece working perfectly and ready to be enjoyed.
