Nomos is a startup in the specialized watch town of Glashütte, Germany. It was founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner, a computer scientist and photographer fond of minimalist watches and Bauhaus aesthetics. Unlike other watchmakers in the village, which tend to be old, refined, complex, expensive, and high-horology producers, Nomos watches are more colorful, daring, and minimalist. Every Nomos watch is made in Glashütte, adhering to the highest watchmaking standards.
The Ahoi Neomatik Blue Sky, reference 256, is a classic Nomos. It features a striking blue dial that is both eye-catching and versatile. True to Nomos’ signature style, the design is minimalist and clean, with a focus on simplicity and elegance. The polished stainless steel case is attractive, thin, and durable.

The watch ships in a protective box and a leather case. I include both the new deployant and the original tang clasp.
The 526 is rated for 200 meters of water resistance and has an engraved whale to prove it. You can dive with it. The watch is powered by the in-house In-house built caliber DUW 6101 automatic movement. This caliber is known for its precision, reliability, and slim design (only 3.2mm thick), contributing to the watch's sleek profile. The movement features the Nomos swing system, a proprietary escapement that enhances the accuracy and efficiency of the watch.
The watch comes with a woven textile strap that is tough and swimmable. It features a quick-release mechanism, allowing for easy strap changes.
