This beloved series was created in the mid-1960s by Eiji Tsuburaya, co-creator of the original Godzilla series. Ultraman is an intergalactic being who resides within protagonist Shin Hayata, transforming into Ultraman when the need to combat monsters arises. In 1971, the producers of “Ultraman Returns” selected Omega’s "Moonwatch" as part of the Monster Attack Team’s monster-fighting kit. It was the last Speedmaster model to be fitted with the renowned caliber 321 and is distinguished from its predecessors by its ‘SP’ designation (‘SP’ for “Spécial Poussoirs” or “special pushers”), which enhanced its water resistance. The present lot, in overall attractive condition is further accompanied by the Extract from the Archives confirming the special orange chronograph hand. Surely a rare opportunity for collectors of unusual and vintage timepieces to own one of the legendary Ultraman Speedmasters.
