THE SELLER
If you’re active in the watch community, you will have no doubt heard the phrase, “buy the seller”. Thus, it seems fitting to start here with a small introduction.
I guess I would refer to myself as a collector and enthusiast. I got into watches, in a big way, 7 years ago. Since then I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve watched countless videos, spent hours on forums, and visited untold number of AD’s and boutiques around the world. I’ve been to live watch events and talked at length with other fellow WIS. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing hundreds of watches first-hand, across many types, brands, and price points.
Throughout this journey, I have purchased nearly 150 watches for my collection, selling more than 100 of these watches on to new homes. Being party to well over 200 watch transactions, I think it is fair to say I’ve got some experience. I try to sell watches the way I would like other sellers to do when I am the buyer. I try to make sure that the pictures I provide are above-average, thereby allowing one to get a good look at the cosmetic condition. If I know there are flaws beyond very light normal wear, I will disclose it. If I know of mechanical issues, I will disclose it. Over 100 sales and counting, I have yet to hear from anyone who was disappointed with the condition of the watch they received.
As a result of this selling approach, I have earned perfect feedback on a well-known auction site, as well as watch forums. Until Chrono24 implements feedback for private sellers, you will have to take my word for it, but there are dozens of happy buyers here too.
THE WATCH
Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Day Acciaio (Limited Edition of 1,000)
PAM 662
“Little Egyptian”
I purchased this watch in 2023 as new old stock. As such, it is still in virtually new condition.
I’m selling it because I simply have too many Panerai at the moment. If money and space were of no concern I would keep them all quite happily.
Comes full set, box and papers.
There is Panerai factory warranty until February of 2030.
Condition
The watch is in new condition. The watch was rotated as part of a large collection over the past year and a half, so it has had little chance for wear and tear. Other than some faint surface lines visible under loupe, and some desk wear on the buckle, this watch looks new on wrist. I doubt you could find a nicer example of this LE watch for sale at any price.
My Impressions
The color combo is quite unique in the Panerai stable. They have made several attempts at an aged radium effect, but this one is by far the nicest. Paired with the right strap, this watch has a very refined feel about it. Almost like one should be sitting in a jazz club enjoying a cigar and a single malt one rainy fall evening. Pure class.

THE PRICE
I try to price all of my watches in a manner that is fair to both buyer and seller. I generally analyze a number of different sources at the time of listing. I price my watches below what you would pay at a (reputable) dealer for a similar watch (age, condition, completeness), realizing that buyers are going to want a small negative premium to buy from a lesser known entity. However, I also balance that with the knowledge that my watches are almost always in “very good” to “like new” condition, and may in fact be as nice, or nicer, than you would find at many dealers (particularly less established ones). As such, I’m not looking to sell below the watch’s true value.
I do consider offers. The market is constantly changing so sometimes a case can be made for a lower price, though not always. I’m happy to discuss it though. That said, I’m never desperate to sell a watch. Those “masters” of the low-ball will not find any success with me. In fact, they may well irritate me to the point they find themselves blocked from further contact and discussion. My watches are exactly what is described and are worth the price being asked.
Also of note, you will likely find this watch listed on other platforms. This, as several buyers over the years have wrongly suggested, is not indicative of a scam. It is merely a way to reach a wider pool of buyers. Once funds have cleared, I will be removing all other listings.
You might also notice that pricing differs from platform to platform. This has to do with different commissions. They can range from 0% on a watch forum to 13% on a popular auction site. Feel free to choose the platform you’re comfortable with, just know that the final price will reflect it.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
