Following their acquisition of Ateliers Réunis in 1980, Patek Philippe started manufacturing the cases “in-house” at Ateliers Réunis and the reference number of the Nautilus was changed to 3700/11. They represent about 20-25 percent of the total Ref. 3700 production. The inside caseback of the present wristwatch carries the hammer head symbol with the numbers 357 indicating that this was made by Calame & Cie, La Chaux-de-Fonds-based casemaker that was eventually bought over by Patek Philippe in 2001. Therefore, this timepiece is fitted with a service case made by Patek Philippe, probably in the early 2000s. The Nautilus Ref. 3700/11 JA was introduced in 1980 and produced in a very small series. According to our research, less than 300 examples of the model were made, rendering it much rarer than its stainless-steel counterpart.
