Designed by watchmaker Gerald Genta’s the original 3700 Nautilus launched in 1976, nicknamed “Jumbo” for its two large side flanks which extended the case width. In 2016 Patek Philippe produced an all platinum reference 5711 wristwatch in honour of the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus collection, printed on the centre of its dial, limited to 700 pieces only. This present Nautilus timepiece reinvigorates the classic manner of the original model, with an elegant blue dial and baguette cut diamond hour markers, yet also represents the subtle evolution of Nautilus watches. Along with its classic appearance, the watch has a date aperture at three o’clock, a display which blends in with the refined diamond indexes on a blue dial.
