-> B. HISTORY of the Model:
Launched in 1957, the 9P caliber was groundbreaking for 2 reasons: standing at 2mm, it was the thinnest manual-wound movement ever made for wristwatches, and its 20.5mm diameter was much larger than the standard, therefore allowing for larger cases. These slender movements allowed for slim and elegant cases with great designs like this "pinstripe" 18k yellow gold case that checks in at only 4mm thick.
The subtle details really make this watch special. Firstly, the pinstripe case texture but the recessed crown is also worthy of note as well as the hidden lugs. The gold tone “Piaget” font on the dial almost sinks into the black dial at some angles while catching the light and eye at others. The lack of hour markers allows the simple, dauphine handset to stand out against the flat black dial as well.
