Roger Smith Series 2 A white gold semi-skeletonised wristwatch with Daniel's co-axial escapement and power reserve indication, Circa 2016 Dial: semi-skeletonised Calibre: mechanical, jewelled Movement number: 44 OD Case: 18k white gold, sapphire crystal display back secured by 6 screws Case number: 44 OD Closure: blue unsigned leather strap and 18k white gold Roger Smith buckle Size: 40 mm diameter Signed: case, dial and movement Accessories: Roger Smith Ownership and Service History booklet and presentation box Described by Roger Smith as "probably the most important watch in the history of the company", the Series 2 started production in 2006 and was the brand's first watch to be made entirely in-house. Production is scarce for the Series 2, with not more than 70 examples produced every decade. Beating in the heart of the movement would be the single wheel version of the Daniels co-axial escapement. The present example is openworked and represents the finest attention to details of the English watchmaker. The chapter ring is silvered and engraved with black minute markers and fitted with Roman numerals, the hands are steel blued to a purple hue, the movement with a custom floral like engraving. The white gold case is hand engraved with lettering and numbers with English gold hallmarks. Production of the present piece started in 2015 and delivered in 2016, complete with the Owner's booklet with Roger Smith's very own signature and guarantee, and comes with a pristine presentation box.
