For sale is a Vintage 1979 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Ref. 5500 in Stainless Steel with a Collectible Pool Intairdril Logo Dial. This example was gifted to an employee of the Pool Intairdril, an oil servicing company. It supplied the labour, rigs and plant equipment to the big oil companies including Occidental, Agip and the Libyan National Oil Company. The watches were given to Pool Intairdril employees typically as safety awards. Safety was a huge issue and so rig managers and other personnel in charge of safety management would be given the Rolex Air King with a co-branded dial bearing the petroleum logo on the dial. In addition to the companies logo, the silver sunburst dial is furnished with white gold hour markers, white gold Rolex coronet and white gold hands. The versatile 34mm case is perfect for both gents and ladies alike and the neutral dial colour makes it easy to wear on almost any occasion. The watch comes fitted with a beautiful leather blue strap featuring a crocodile pattern. The blue strap perfectly compliments the blue ‘Intairdril’ logo on the dial.
