Rolex Oyster Air-King Precision stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch, reference no. 4499, serial no. 353xxx, circa 1945, signed dial with luminous Arabic numerals and outer minute track, luminous steel hands and centre seconds, Precision 17 jewel movement, screw down Oyster crown, signed case, expanding bracelet, 34mm - ** The reference 4499 Air-King was in production for a short period of time and by 1953 had been replaced by the first automatic Air-King under reference 6552 , Box and Papers - no box or papers. Movement - currently functioning, overhauled in 2003. Dial - nice patina dial as expected for the period - see image. Glass - replaced in 2003, good. Hands - part of the lume insert is missing, original. Case - some marks present to the case back, lightly re-polished in 2003 - see image. Crown - adjusts correctly. Bracelet - later expanding bracelet.
