Description
The Rolex Submariner is one of the most iconic watches ever produced and they have a cult like following. Many collectors cherish the earliest designs of the 1950s, while some prefer the quintessential design to be Submariners with crown guards which was introduced with the reference 5512/5513 case references. Of the most desired Submariners, models such as the “James Bond” or “Big Crown” come to mind, alongside the elusive “MilSub” models. We are thrilled to offer this Rolex MilSub reference 5513 issued to the Royal Navy. The case has been lightly polished, but is very attractive. The watch features a 3.9M serial dating to circa 1975 and features an issued engraving on the case back dating to 1975. It is paired on a nylon strap, with fixed springbars. It features the original rare “sword” hands for military specifications. There are approximately 1,110 MilSub examples produced across three references (5513, the double reference 5513/5517, and 5517) of which there are approximately 300 known. The watch does not include box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
