A Gilt Brass Painted Horseshoe-shaped Desk Clock, La Hora Al Secundo with Original Wooden Presentation Box C1960. Dial: A Matt Silvered Dial, Signed Rolex, with applied Roman numerals, outer minute track subsidiary seconds dial at six with original gold-plated dauphine hands and matching seconds’ hand. Case: A Gilt brass green and black faux finish soft enamel to simulate marble, with the inscription La Hora al Segundo (Time to the Second). The stop lever in the brass band at 6 o'clock. The base plate is made of brass with a hinged cover to open and reveal the movement. This clock was made for the Latin American market. Movement: The Rhodium-plated, battery-powered, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring and the handset to the back plate of the movement. This is a rare and beautiful precision timepiece desk clock which Rolex produced because of it’s condition and that it has also got its original outer travel box. The dimensions of the box 13cm x 19cm. Height 9.5 cm. This Desk clock would make a superb addition to one’s collection.
