To celebrate the watch's 55th anniversary, Seiko began a year of "reinterpretation" watches - the SLA037J1 was the second of three chapters in that series. Limited to 1,100 units worldwide, this watch is number 318. Sporting a captivating blue-grey dial, the SLA037J1 boasts a high end Seiko 8L55 hi-beat movement, which runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour, has been regulated by my watchmaker to run at just -3spd. The watch is in excellent condition, with the exception of a small mark on the lume marker at 12 o'clock of the bezel and some very minor marks to the side of the case and case back from every day wear, but no dings or deep scratches anywhere (see photos). I bought this watch on import from Japan in 2023 and I have really enjoyed it. However, as beautiful as it is, my growing collection means it hasn't seen regular wrist time in the past year, and so I'm looking to pass it on to a new owner.
