Sinn U50DS limited edition (H-Link and NATO): immaculate.
It’s the new year and one in, one out. Re the ‘out’, I’ve moved on slightly from my love of the utilitarian look where, in my eyes, the U50DS represents the pinnacle – and, in doing so, offer this barely worn (maybe 10 times) watch in immaculate condition.
The DS is a limited edition with every dial being unique, this being number 499/1000 - purchased in Feb ’24 from CW Sellors (Jura) for a smidge under £3k. It still has a year on the warranty.
I hesitate to sell any used watch ‘as new’, but I’d say it’s ‘as good as’ – on account of both gentle treatment and Sinn’s bead-blasted ‘Tegiment’ technology all round (case, bezel, bracelet): the only notable (but still minor) signs of wear relate to desk-diving the Watch Bandit NATO, which I’ve used from the start – the H-link bracelet still living in its original protective film.
The U50 wears a little smaller than its 41mm diameter c/o a compact 47mm lug to lug, svelte 11mm thickness (and 74g weight). It runs on the bulletproof SW300-1 movement, so servicing (in several years) will be straightforward.
What really struck me when taking the (iPhone) snaps for this ad was the brilliant AR coating on the crystal – I often find myself struggling to get photos without reflections here, there and everywhere: with the U50 it's been a doddle.
In summary, this top-spec, barely worn, full-set, bracelet + NATO, limited edition Sinn U50DS is looking for a more attentive custodian: to ease things along I'll listen to reasonable offers and post (fully insured) for free in the UK.
