A little bit of history, which I really like to know and in a way that's why I bought it at the time:
As the story goes, in 1954, Universal Genève turned to Genta, then just 23 years old, to design a watch to commemorate SAS (Scandanavian Airlines Systems) polar flights from New York/Los Angeles directly to Europe. That watch would become known as the Polarouter (later renamed Polerouter) and would lead to a highly successful family of watches for Universal Genève.
The UG 215 calibre family shared some technical features with the UG 138 bumper calibres: a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and an overall diameter of 28 mm, but now had 28 jewels. The UG 215 calibre was a three-hand movement with central seconds. The UG 215-1 version, which was 5.15 mm thick, featured central hour, minute and seconds hands along with a date disc.
The watch might have been polished at some point. Its nothing to worry about , much more "real", I like them that way, unpolished. Of course, it is about 50 years old, so the steel of the watch is worn.
