This watch belongs to a limited series produced in 1986 for the Watchmaking Museum of La Chaux-de-Fonds in collaboration with the Franklin Mint. There were 1500 pieces with a white dial and 1500 with a black dial. The watch presented here does not have the typical markings of this series; it is likely one of the internal use prototypes of Universal Geneve. It is powered ba a mechanical manual winding movement, the Universal Geneve calibre 42, intricately skeletonized and engraved, in excellent aesthetic and operational condition. The original movement operates reliably and keeps time. It is a quality manufacture-grade movement in excellent condition. The solid 18kt gold case is elegantly sized at 30 mm, excluding the crown. The case features a double sapphire crystal and a visible movement, with a pressure-locked case back, original to the piece.
