Journe Octa Automatique Lune was introduced in 2015, in case sizes of 40 or 42 mm. The case variations included diverse forms of platinum, gold, and silver. This newer version, the Automatique Lune Havana, differentiates itself with a larger date and moon complication for better visibility. The platinum version features either a 40 or 42-mm case, with a gorgeous dial in a tobacco hue. This dial is a new facet for F.P. Journe, allowing the brand to explore more creatively than before. The unique color is a mix of gold and ruthenium and took many experiments to get the precise shade. The model enhances the original version with larger date and moonphase apertures, with the latter being in sapphire. Its rivetting silver guilloche clou de paris feature is bordered by numerals in print, and the hands are crafted in a teardrop silhouette with ivory hues. A retrograde power reserve indicator elevates this timepiece to new heights, showcasing a 120-hour scale. It also displays a crown of increased size, showcasing F.P. Journe’s silk-rope pattern. The movement is caliber Octa 1300.3 and has a power reserve of 120 hours, the first for an F.P. Journe automatic watch. The movement is unidirectionally wound with the innovative F.P. Journe 22k 6N gold rotor, an off-center ball bearing method that is self-locking. Complications on the watch are abundant, such as its Flyback Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar, and the Moonphase. Any adjustments for the complications can be done through the crown, making it easy to wear. Its bridges are adorned with côtes de Genève fashioned in circular motifs, and base-plate graining that is slightly circular as well.
