The watch is from the Circa 1970s and is sold in worn, used condition, but overall, as you can see from the photograph, it is in very fair vintage condition. The soft rounded edges lead to the top edge labelled digital pushers, on the left side a recessed pusher for setting the quartz display and at 6 o’clock a crown to set the GMT analogue dial and date. A slim bezel holds a flat crystal above the Chronosplit dial. A digital display shows the time, split-time chronograph, and date. The lower recessed section holds the analogue GMT dial, an outer minute track with Tritium pips and stick indexes marking the hours, and a round date window at 4 o'clock. White baton hands are complemented by a white second hand. “Chronosplit GMT” and “Manhattan” are printed in white, completing this unapologetically best-of-both-worlds 1970s sports GMT. On the reverse a screwed-down solid case back, inside an early Quartz Cal. 107 / ESA 935.102 developed by Citizen. The watch comes paired with its 21mm integrated brushed stainless steel tapered bracelet secured by a signed folding clasp, will fit up to a 7-inch wrist and comes with its Tag Heuer instruction booklet. Personal Note It certainly isn't every day a watch like this comes up for sale, though I do seriously wish it was as 70s watches are easily some of my favourites, an experimental time for design and function, this Heuer Chronosplit GMT Manhattan is the perfect embodiment of that. Featuring a digital time and stopwatch at 12 o'clock and a second GMT time at 6 o'clock with a traditional analogue layout, you really cannot go wrong with this gem on the wrist, so add it to your collection today whilst you have the opportunity! The Brand Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. It features many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the fullest. In 1958, Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1962, the first generation of Autavia was launched. Famously worn in the 1970s by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni, Mario Andretti, and many more. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. offered a bid in 1999 that was accepted by TAG Heuer.
